The influence of Confucianism on China
"To understand China, you really need to understand Confucianism.Confucianism is not a set religion nor form of government. It is simply a cultural way of life for the Chinese."-Professor Xuefeng Bai of Xiamen University
The ideals of Confucius were simple and sensible, letting Confucianism spread through Asia like wildfire. Things like righteousness, honesty and loyalty made them useful to nobility and peasamts alike. Nobility who were to seek a government position would use these principles to gain popularity with the people and other government officials, while peasants would use them simply to try and be good honest people.
